Palak Paneer, is a green spinach curry with soft paneer cubes

Here’s an easy recipe for Palak Paneer:

Ingredients: 
  • Spinach (Palak): 250 grams (washed and chopped) 
  • Paneer: 200 grams (cubed) 
  • Onion: 1 medium-sized (finely chopped) 
  • Tomato: 1 medium-sized (pureed) 
  • Green chilies: 1-2 (adjust to taste) 
  • Garlic: 4-5 cloves (chopped) 
  • Ginger: 1-inch piece (chopped) 
  • Cumin seeds: 1/2 teaspoon 
  • Turmeric powder: 1/4 teaspoon 
  • Red chili powder: 1/2 teaspoon 
  • Garam masala: 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Cream: 2 tablespoons (optional) 
  • Oil or ghee: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: To taste 

Instructions: 

1. Preparation tomato masala: 
  • Chopped onions, garlic, ginger and tomatoes 
  • Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan. Add roughly chopped onions, garlic, ginger, nuts, and tomatoes, sautĆ© for a couple of minutes.

1. Blanch the spinach: 
  • Boil water in a pot and add the spinach leaves. Cook for 2-3 minutes until wilted.

  • Transfer the spinach to a bowl of cold water to retain its green color. 
  • Drain the spinach and squeeze out excess water
2. Blend the spinach: 
  • In a blender, add the blanched spinach,and tomato masala, Blend into a smooth paste.

4. Cook the spinach paste: 
  • Add the spinach paste to the pan. Mix well and simmer for 3-4 minutes. 
5. Add spices: 
  • Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, powder, cumin powder, kasuri methi, and salt, Cook for a minute.

6. Add paneer: 
  • Gently add the paneer cubes and mix. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  • If you prefer a creamier dish, stir in the cream at this stage. 
7. Adjust seasoning: 
  • Add salt to taste and mix well.

8. Serve: 
  • Garnish with a swirl of cream (optional) and serve hot with naan, roti, or rice.
