Palak Paneer
Palak Paneer, is a green spinach curry with soft paneer cubes
Here’s an easy recipe for Palak Paneer:
Ingredients:- Spinach (Palak): 250 grams (washed and chopped)
- Paneer: 200 grams (cubed)
- Onion: 1 medium-sized (finely chopped)
- Tomato: 1 medium-sized (pureed)
- Green chilies: 1-2 (adjust to taste)
- Garlic: 4-5 cloves (chopped)
- Ginger: 1-inch piece (chopped)
- Cumin seeds: 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder: 1/4 teaspoon
- Red chili powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala: 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Cream: 2 tablespoons (optional)
- Oil or ghee: 2 tablespoons
- Salt: To taste
Instructions:
- Chopped onions, garlic, ginger and tomatoes
- Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan. Add roughly chopped onions, garlic, ginger, nuts, and tomatoes, sautƩ for a couple of minutes.
1. Blanch the spinach:
- Boil water in a pot and add the spinach leaves. Cook for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
- Transfer the spinach to a bowl of cold water to retain its green color.
- Drain the spinach and squeeze out excess water
- In a blender, add the blanched spinach,and tomato masala, Blend into a smooth paste.
4. Cook the spinach paste:
- Add the spinach paste to the pan. Mix well and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
5. Add spices:
- Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, powder, cumin powder, kasuri methi, and salt, Cook for a minute.
