Mung Sprouts Bhel Recipe using olive oil - healthy snack

Mung Sprouts bhel is a healthy and delicious snack made from mung beans (green gram) mixed with various vegetables and spices. Using olive oil instead of traditional oils adds a healthy twist.

Here's a simple recipe to make mung bhel with olive oil:


Ingredients:
  • 4 cup puffed rice also known as Kurmura (murmura)
  • 1 cup mung beans, soaked and sprouted
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 small cucumber, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 small carrot, grated (optional)
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Sev or roasted peanuts for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare Mung Beans:
Soak the mung beans in water overnight or for at least 8 hours. Drain and rinse them, then leave them in a covered container to sprout for a day or two. Ensure they are well-sprouted before use.

2. Mix Vegetables:
In a large mixing bowl, add Kurmura (murmura), the finely chopped onion, tomato, green chili (if using), and coriander leaves.

3. Add Sprouted Mung Beans:
Add the sprouted mung beans to the mixture.

4. Season:
Add roasted cumin powder, chaat masala(if using)

5. Add Olive Oil:
Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture and toss everything together to ensure even coating.

6. Garnish and Serve:
  • Garnish with Farsan,sev or roasted peanuts for extra crunch, if desired.
  • Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
