- 1 bay leaf (optional)
- 1-2 cloves garlic (optional)
- 1 small piece of ginger (optional)
Instructions:
1. Rinse and Soak:
- Rinse the chickpeas thoroughly under cold water.
- Soak them in enough water to cover them by at least 2 inches for 6-8 hours or overnight. This helps to reduce cooking time and improves digestibility.
- After soaking, drain and rinse the chickpeas again.
- Add the soaked and drained chickpeas to the Instant Pot.
- Add 4 cups of water.
- Add salt, bay leaf, garlic, and ginger if using. These optional ingredients add flavor to the chickpeas.
- Close the lid of the Instant Pot and set the valve to the sealing position.
